Making a Living, The Hard Way

Nobody ever questioned his guts,
Many more commented on his brain.
Yet, everybody loves a boxer,
Who's between fights and startin' to train.
Sometimes the jab keeps em at bay,
So his sledgehammer can go to town.
His footspeed could use a step or two,
Still he's a fight away from the crown.
To pound and be pounded time and again,
Yes, I take my hat off to you.
I champion your spirited thrust,
To pugilists, this cheer is over-due.
I admire you for your courage,
Still, figthing too often now and then.
Many a manager has taken the dive,
Signing your contract with his pen.
